Alf Esteban is the founder and Managing Principal of StratEdge Consulting.

He has been involved with financial services organisations for over 25 years, having started as a casual bank agency teller while undergoing university studies. His career has primarily been with leading IT firms providing products and services to the financial services community.

Prior to founding StratEdge Consulting, Mr. Esteban was General Manager Global Services Asia Pacific for a global software and services firm, where he was responsible for designing and implementing a shift in the services strategy away from outsourcing services to consultancy services targeting asset managers, brokers and central bodies throughout the Asia Pacific region. He was able to reduce operational costs significantly while improving satisfaction levels of outsourced clients. He put in place partnerships with other services and application vendors, allowing the firm to focus on its core competencies.

Mr. Esteban had a successful with the IBM Corporation career spanning 21 years in various sales, marketing, product management and segment management roles in both Asia Pacific and globally. In his last role at IBM, Mr. Esteban was Executive - Financial Markets Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for all of IBM's business to the main financial markets participants in the Asia Pacific region. He led a sales and implementation team dedicated to delivering leading financial markets solutions. These solutions focused on the key business areas of asset management and wealth management; corporate and institutional banking; securities transaction processing; and electronic market infrastructure.

Prior to this role, Mr. Esteban was Global Strategy Manager, Financial Markets, responsible for the global development of industry and market strategy for IBM's Financial Markets business. He was also Global Sales Operations and Brand Sales Manager - Financial Markets, where he had worldwide responsibility for the day to day running of IBM's Global Financial Markets business, as well as providing an interface between the various IBM product divisions and the Financial Markets solutions development team. He has also been responsible for the development and implementation of IBM's global strategy for Exchanges and Electronic Markets.

Alf Esteban has a Bachelor of Science degree, with majors in pure mathematics and nuclear physics; a MBA in general management; and a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Bank Management with an emphasis on the Capital Markets. He has written a thesis on the events leading to, and the subsequent result of the collapse of Barings Bank.

Alf is a Fellow of the Finance and Securities Insitute of Australasia, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Member of the Australian Credit Union Institute. He sits on the boards of several financial services organisations in both the for- and not-for-profit sectors.
